ABOUT ME
Let me introduce myself. My name is Kristine Wolfe. I came to Sierra Vista because my
husband is active duty military and assigned to Fort Huachuca. We fell in love with the people, the mountains, and the small town way of life, so we chose to make Sierra Vista our home. I want to work to make my home a better place to live, to work, and to visit and plan to do so by being knowledgeable, transparent, and accessible while being on the Sierra Vista City Council.
I was born into a military family and grew up in Indiana, outside of Chicago. I received my B.A.
from Valparaiso University, where I majored in political science. After graduating magna cum
laude, I continued on to law school at the College of William & Mary in Virginia, where I received my J.D. in 2005. After graduation, I worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia as a prosecutor where I focused on fourth amendment issues as well other cases such as Armed Robbery and Murder. Due to my success, I was given a detail to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, where I prosecuted firearms and drug offenders under Project Safe Neighborhood. I am very proud of my efforts to have helped make the City of Newport News a safer place.
My husband and I opened our business, Hoppin' Grapes, in December of 2013. Hoppin’ Grapes
is a thriving business and has given me the knowledge and ability to give back to the community. Additionally, I received the hands on experience of a successful business owner to understand just how important city council policies and decisions can be to encouraging new businesses and existing ones. While at Hoppin’ Grapes, I have always served as a listening ear and sounding
board to my patrons and the community. If elected, I will continue to do this as a member of city council.
My business is a proud member of the Sierra Vista Chamber of Commerce and Southeast Arizona Hospitality Association (SEAHA). Currently, I serve on the West End Committee and am in charge of the planning for the West End Fair. My biggest contribution to the West End Fair will be for all people to see and understand how the money is raised and spent. This kind of transparency and accountability is something I would continue to encourage if elected to city council.
Beyond being just a business owner, I believe in contributing to my community on my own time. I have participated in several volunteer clean up events in the West End as well as helped clean up the Coronado National Forrest.
I also own a very fat Beagle named Honeypot and a crazy black Labrador named Fish. In my spare time, I enjoy watching TV shows that my husband hates, reading, and having a glass of wine. If elected, I promise to bring my knowledge as a successful small business owner, transparency, and accessibility to the City Council of Sierra Vista.
