On January 21, I had the opportunity to participate in the West End business walk. This was a joint effort between the Sierra Vista Chamber of Commerce and the City's Economic Development Division. I was more than happy to join other business owners, current council members and members of our community to canvass the businesses on Fry.

The purpose of the business walk was to try and open communications between businessses, the Chamber and the city. Teams of two spoke to business owners/managers about the challenges that they have faced and are currently facing. Additionally, the survey asked how the city could help the businesses to thrive.

Many businesses are facing similar challenges. A big challenge is vandalism that seems to plague most of the businesses. Additionally, businesses spoke of unfairness in code enforcement.
